Hello KCIS

　　Julien，來自美國奧勒岡Portland，14歲的男孩。他的夢想是要改善世界、讓世界更美好，這一年多他成立這個網站（http://archimedesalliance.org/），投入慈善活動，期望將募得的善款捐贈給Village Reach, Invisible Children, Outreach International三個機構，協助對象主要是醫療協助、以及烏干達戰亂下的人民、和各國極度貧困家庭。他為什麼會選擇這三個機構，其實也有著許多原則，讓我看見他「真的不是玩玩而已！」

　　在他規畫的網站上，我擷取了這一段話 “He saw a world filled with hunger, poverty and disease and he wanted to change it, but he didn’t have a million dollars lying around.  And he was inspired by Archimedes, the Greek philosopher and mathematician who said, “give me a lever long enough and a place to stand, and I can move the Earth.”  The Archimedes Alliance is that place to stand.  You are the lever.  Together, we will move the Earth.”，同樣地，這也是他在宣傳影片中所強調的。每個人都有力量去改變這個世界，先從2美元開始。 

　　10/4 16:50，九年級子霽將擔任主持人，歡迎Julien分享寶貴的經驗與故事，提到動機時，他分享 “So what inspired me to do this?  Giving has been a huge part of my life from a very young age.  My family and I would make weekly trips to donate money, or give food, or volunteer.  Giving simply became part of who I am.  One year ago, I just decided to take what I’d been doing my whole life one step further. ”為了讓更多人投入慈善，他做了很多努力，付出行動。他同時也感謝他的母親給他健康的家庭，願意支持他。這時說到一句德蕾莎修女曾說過的話：｢回家和愛您的家庭。｣，說這句話的當時她正拒絕了一次頒獎宴會和獎金。媒體問及她：｢我們可能做什麼促進世界和平？｣。她回答：｢回家和愛您的家庭。｣，更曾宣誓終其 一生要全心全意地為“最窮”的人（ poorest of the poor ）服務，可以解釋Julien選擇Outreach International的原因了。

　　｢回家和愛您的家庭。｣這句充滿期待、願景、回到根本的一句話。這次的專訪，我請他分享這次台灣行的心得，還有平常的興趣時，Julien首先說"Basketball is my life."，並用生澀的中文說「我有學中文，會說一小小中文。」真的非常可愛 ^^，還認真地分享「他對台灣的食物、與濃厚的人情味的感動！」。小男孩的外表下，有著雄獅一般的壯志，如阿基米德所啟發他的“give me a lever long enough and a place to stand, and I can move the Earth. ”。Welcome to KCBS, Julien Leitner.
